The documentary on the Indiana's Little 500 was originally conceived of in 1998. Following a meeting with the late Bill Armstrong it was decided to undertake the massive project designed to chronicle the then 49 year old race.
Thanks to the preservation skills of Indiana University and the Student Foundation, thousands of photographs and film or video footage from virtually every race were made available for use in the film. Research, thanks to John Schwarb's historical recount and endless hours looking at old newspapers, set the stage for the project. Eighty interviews later, reenactments, personal filming of five races, and countless trips to Bloomington, we had our film. Explore the pages here and learn more the project, the race and the filmmakers.
