Responsibilities included normal teaching duties and extracirricular advising.

and overseeing funded projects.FILMMAKING EXPERIENCE
INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER / DOCUMENTARIAN 1988 - present
Projects include all phases of construction of both narrative and documentary subjects; including writing,
directing, editing and distribution of several award winning films. Documentary work has recently focused
on non-for-profit and films concerned with the medical and mental health fields. Extensive grant writing involved in fund raising.
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY 1994 - present
Projects have ranged from independent feature/documentary work, to television, and from corporate to commercial. Responsibilities usually consist of planning and executing shots, while maintaining a continuity of lighting.
Commercial agency work has included for jobs for Bozel, DDB Needham, and McKinney/Chicago.
Clients have included, among others: McDonalds, Baxter, Kraft, WMX Technologies, Jockey, and Bacardi.
Documentary and television clients have included among others: A&E, Lifetime, FOX, UPN.
Extensive knowledge in HD, Beta, 16mm, 35mm and other digital video formats, as well as experience with lighting many lighting packages.

PROJECTS - Awards & Honors
PSYCHIATRIC SURVIVOR (Co-Writer / Cinematographer / Editor)
The feature documentary, currently in post-production, follows the life of involuntarily committed Illinois Mental Hospital recipient Rodney Yoder. The project, which has currently received over 70,000 in National funding is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2008.
FREE WHEELS (Co-Writer/Co-director/Cinematographer)
The four-hour historical film, which was awarded 30,000 in grants has sold over 3,000 units and was first broadcast on PBS in the Spring of 2003. I have done all the web design, marketing and distribution of the film. It was re-released in an updated version during the Spring of 2007. In relation to the film, Harnett has been interviewed in media outlets as diverse as ESPN, the L.A. Times and Indianapolis Star.
BLUEBERRY HILL (Writer/Director/Cinematographer)
The 32 minute short narrative premiered at the Fine Arts Theater in Downtown Chicago in December of 1996. The film’s extensive festival success has included awards in The International Short Film Fest. of Belgium, The Texas Film Festival, Panavision Cinematography Excellence Award, Indiana Film Fest., Cleveland Film Fest. et al.

Fifteen hundred dollar grant awarded for the production of the film Wall of Weeds.
NATIONAL TELLY AWARD Camera operator for award winning documentary on Daahoud Bey.

Three thousand dollar grant awarded for the production of the film Blueberry Hill.
Fifteen hundred dollar grant awarded for the production of the film Wall of Weeds.

One year scholarship awarded for graduate study in the Film and Video department.
HEARTLAND FILM FESTIVAL Festival Finalist. Gun Play. 10 minute independent film.
Film was chosen for inclusion on Indianapolis' PBS affiliate WFYI's
"Reel Time" program. Show included a 'filmmaker's' interview.
